Owner of “This Is It” Furniture and Mattress Boss
Michael “Big Mike” Namoff was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. Born into an entrepreneurial family as the youngest of five brothers, he opened his first furniture store at the age of 17. He owns and operates multiple stores, including “This Is It” Furniture and Bedding in Champaign and Mattress Boss in Champaign.
In Addition to his retail stores, Mike also co-owns and operates “Mega Events” which raises money for charities on a regular basis. Some of the charities that his organization has helped are Special Olympics, March of Dimes, Boys and Girls Club, Crisis Nursery, American Heart Association, Champaign County Humane Society, and Tom Jones Challenger League, to name a few. He has helped raise over $10 million for organizations in Illinois including Chicago Blackhawks, Chicago White Sox, University of Illinois, and Kids Have Hope, and has worked with many Hall of Fame members, including Lou Brock, Bob Gibson, Andre Dawson, Ryne Sandberg, Ozzie Smith, Mike Ditka, Pete Rose, Jim McMahon, and Jenny Finch.
He is well known for his crazy TV commercials featuring his children. They have been featured on Letterman, Talk Soup, and Will Ferrell’s “Funny or Die” website. His high energy and big heart jump started what has now been 15 years in the auctioneering business.
A board member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes for over five years, Mike is also the founder of the Dream Team, a competitive youth baseball organization that has over 150 kids participating every year. Recently, he started working with the Tom Jones Challenger League, an organization that enables kids with disabilities to play baseball.
Mike and his wife Michelle have been married for over two decades. They have three children: Tyler, Mallory, and Michael.
Stefanie is a top producing and award winning Realtor in Central Illinois. Stefanie has worked on and chaired numerous not-for-profits for over 16 years to include The Champaign County Humane Society “Fur Ball” Chair 2008-2013, The Don Moyer Boys and Girls Club (Board member and auctions), The American Heart Association “Heart Ball” (auctions), and many more. Stefanie has a compassionate heart for helping those in need and loves to find ways to give back.
Mike and Stefanie have been long time friends and worked together over many years in various auctions. Stefanie’s role in Mega Events Auctions is to meet with organizations to assess their needs, assist in giving direction for layout, ideas, auction items, ensuring the event location is prepared for Mike, and more. She also handles the behind the scenes of the website, contracts, forms, and accounting.
